12 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey by Knob Creek Review

I was lucky enough to try this bad boy at the USA whisky show in Sydney by @thewhiskylist thanks to @theuisler bringing it with him from the states. It’s the Knob Creek 12yr from @knobcreek at #5 for the year on my list.

Looking forward to the continued rise in premium bourbon in Australian so we can start getting access to some of these fantastic bourbons.

It was love at first sip for me on the Knob Creek 12yr thanks to it tasting like liquid Snickers, which happens to be my favourite chocolate bar 🤣

Nose: Classic beam nuttiness mingles with caramel, chocolate and toasted oak in mesmerising fashion. I also get freshy baked cake teasing in the background for an overall intoxicating experience.

Palate: Leather, charred oak and vanilla immediately jump out, with a creamy mouthfeel, chocolate, caramel and nuts follow in that delicious Snickers bundle. A touch of spice dances around the tongue for quite a complex palate.

Finish: Interestingly I get a touch of cigar leaf on the finish and drying oak. It’s long and lingering with the caramel sweetness returning with some espresso and chocolate for a satisfying finish to a fantastic bourbon.
