Fidens Brewing “Waiheke” Review

Fidens brewing waiheke beer review by b33rlyalive

Happy 3rd Anniversary to @fidensbrewing! I’ve only visited a handful of times, but the folks working there have always been very friendly and welcoming. One can tell that they’re genuinely happy to be there – a testament to how great a brewery Fidens is (besides the fact that they craft some banging beer).

Now on to this beer. My amateur palate lacks the appropriate flavor descriptors to convey the complexity of what’s going on here, but I’ll do my best. To me, many NZ hops tend to open up super earthy and dank, before yielding bright tropical fruit flavors. There are layers of complexity here – I’m getting an interplay of spice and fruit, and the contrast helps accentuate the juiciness of the latter notes. Lastly, the color is absolutely gorgeous – milky yellow and densely opaque, which connotes the rich, full body of this delicious beverage. Definitely one to be savored slowly to maximize enjoyment! 🍻
