New Belgium “Skinny Dip” Review
Reviewing New Belgium’s “Skinny Dip” this Sunday morning. This is an American Pale Lager with 4.2% alcohol. As you can see, my son got curious with this beer and began sniffing around. The wrong part, I may add. Lol. Anyways, let’s take a look at my thoughts: Poured from a 12oz bottle (best by date 13Sep15) into a Mikasa ale glass. Pours with a quarter finger’s worth of white foam that dissipates into a line within 15 seconds. Dull gold in color with mild bubbles. Lacing is practically absent. Has mild aromas of floral hops and peaches that combine with hints of bready malt and pale malt aromas. Initial taste is of strong floral hops and mild peach flavors. Floral hop flavors persist as peach flavors gradually fade as subtle pale malt and bready malt flavors enter the palate. Light bodied, strongly carbonated (I hate that) with a very crisp and somewhat smooth finish. A good beer that strives to be great, but fails at that endeavour.
OVERALL RATING: 3.39 out of 5.
